The R extension package drc

About drc

The package is designed for analysis of dose-response data in a broad sense where dose can be any stimulus applied for a range of concentrations (biological or chemical substances, radiation, time).

In more detail, the package provides the following functionality:

  • analysis of both for continuous and quantal response
  • model fitting of one or more curves
  • standard models built in (eg exponential, log-logistic, Weibull)
  • specialised models: hormesis or initial inhibition/stimulation
  • convenient graphical functionality for displaying data and fitted curve(s)
  • calculation of effective concentrations (EC/ED/IC/LC/LD values) and relative potencies
  • comparison of arbitrary model parameters across curves
  • goodness-of-fit/lack-of-fit test and t-test and F-test for model reduction
  • Box-Cox transformation to remedy non-normality and/or variance heterogeneity
  • simulation of specific models

The current major version is available through the CRAN repository. drc is frequently been improved and extended. Any kind of feedback is welcome. It could be bug reports, comments, contributions, ideas, and suggestions.
